Aquaria Water Access Project
Thematic Area(s): Physical and Wellbeing Infrastructures | Digital and Knowledge Infrastructures
Client: Aquaria World
Dates + status: 2024 - 2027, Ongoing
Location(s): Texas, USA
Scope of Work: Applied Research, Innovation and Strategy-Data Science Geospatial Analysis
This project supports Aquaria in identifying neighborhoods most in need of atmospheric water generation (AWG) technology by analyzing demographic trends, climate data, and water access challenges in Texas and California. It focuses on communities with high population densities, water-stressed households, and vulnerable groups facing water insecurity. The initiative maps areas with high humidity and limited rainfall where AWG technology can be most effective while evaluating neighborhoods with unreliable municipal supply, groundwater depletion, or contamination issues. By combining spatial analysis, ethnographic research, and stakeholder engagement, this project will prioritize deployment locations, ensuring sustainable, localized water solutions for communities in need.
